About the BrewerySince 1995 Barrington Brewery has been serving our own Barn Brewed Beer and food made from scratch. We were the first brewery on the east coast to install a solar panel system that supplies solar-heated hot water for brewing and restaurant use. Our kitchen features scratch made desserts, freshly baked bread baked on the premises daily by our talented team. We have always used local ingredients whenever they are available.
We offer grass fed burgers & local sausages by the Alpine Pork Store in Catskill, NY and Nodines Smokehouse in Goshen, CT. Our beer flavors many of our made from scratch dishes, including our Cheddar Ale Soup, Semolina Ale Bread, chilis, barbecue sauce, salad dressings and famous Chocolate Stout Cake as well as our Beer-Steamed Sausage and Steak & Stout Sandwiches.
Solar Brewed Sustainability85% of our electrical needs are provided by our 480 panel, 144 KW solar system which produces 168,000 kilowatt hours annually. Installed in 2016 by Grenergy Solar and
Torrico Electric. In 2016 we rated in the top 20 solar-beer breweries in the world according to
Solar Plaza.
In 2007, our 30-panel, roof mounted, solar hot water system was installed and
decreased our natural gas usage by 50%. The solar hot water system heats all of the hot water for not only the brewery, but also for hand washing and dishwashing for both the restaurant and our banquet facility,
Crissey Farm.
All of the spent grain from our brewery feeds the cows at a local beef farm.
Since 1995, we have recycled all paper, cardboard, cans and glass. In 2007, our banquet facility was built with reclaimed materials, including wood, and carpet made from recycled material.
